At the July 22 Board meeting, the Board of Education approved a resolution to authorize the issuance and sale of Measure G, General Obligation Bonds. The sale of the bonds will result in an estimated savings to local taxpayers of more than $2 million. Assistant Superintendent of Business Karen Kimmel stated that this is a great opportunity to save taxpayers money while incurring no fiscal impact to the District. The Measure G Bond was originally passed during the June 6, 2006 election in the maximum amount of $128 million and provides funding to the District for various purposes such as technology upgrades and construction projects.
